I get so many questions regarding skincare all the time! I’m always trying new products and flip flop from drugstore to high-end items. I feel like right now I have a good mix of both in my beauty routine. I would describe my skin as combination. During the day I try to control my oily spots but at night I’m all about hydration and anti-aging. Below I break down my process starting with weekly treatments, daytime skincare, and nighttime skincare. Please note: I am not a professional and am only sharing my experience with these products. If you have questions or concerns before using any of these products you should talk to a professional or doctor.
Treatments:
At Home Dermaplaning – (Using this tool) I shave my face mostly for exfoliation and removing unwanted facial hair. Trust me… black peach fuzz is not cute! This treatment also helps my makeup go on smoother and reduce the appearance of fine lines! Who would have thought you could get all these benefits at home from shaving your face? I like to do this in the morning when I wake up, then wash my face, apply my regular products, and go makeup-free for the rest of the day. Your hair will not grow back thicker or darker! I try to always shave upwards although I’ve heard any direction makes no difference. I only do this once a week and use the same razor twice before throwing it away. This is a great affordable way to get a spa-like treatment at home!
Pore Mask – I try to do this mask twice a week but usually only get around to doing it once. You can even do it right after dermaplaning. I love this mask so much and it’s so great for my oily skin friends. I have struggled with whiteheads and blackheads for a long time and this mask has helped reduce not only these ugly bumps but also reduce the appearance of my pores. Apply this to the area of concern generously and let it sit for about ten minutes. Use a washcloth (click here for my favorite one) and warm water to take the mask off. Follow your normal skincare routine afterward.
Exfoliating Scrub – Love this scrub for in-between treatments. I like to use this twice a week in the mornings so help get off any extra dead skin and it leaves my face extra soft.
Daytime Routine:
Cleanser – A great gentle face wash
Toner – I use this toner on my t-zone
Toner – I use this toner for the rest of my face
Vitamin C Serum – A great way to get brighter skin
Face Lotion – LOVE this lotion. It’s so lightweight and still hydrating!
Eye Cream – It’s so important to keep your under-eye area hydrated!
Nighttime Routine:
Cleanser – same cleanser as the AM but I wash my face 2-3 times to make sure I get all the makeup off.
Eye Makeup Remover – This eye makeup remover is inexpensive and lasts a long time! I use a cotton round to take my eye makeup off.
Toner – Once I’ve applied all my skincare I will also use this to spot treat pimples. Put the toner on a q-tip and apply to each pimple and let dry.
Toner – love using this to make sure I got off all my makeup
Face Lotion – a great hydrating face lotion
Eye Cream –
Retinol – Been using this one for a while not and have noticed my smile lines become less visible!
Lash Conditioner – One of my favorite beauty products! This has helped grow my lashes and keep them strong. You can also use this as an eyelash primer before applying mascara!
Additional Tips
