I’ve had a few messages lately asking for petite friendly boots! It seems like wide calf boots are so easy to find but what about those of us with the complete opposite problem? I’ve done a ton of research over the past few weeks and have found several options listed below.
I’ve also realized shopping online for narrow calf boots is far easier than going in-store. Obviously, the extra petite frame is not the most common, so stores are only carrying these petite friendly styles online.
Here are some things to look for when shopping on a retailer’s website:
-Always check the details section of a product listing for key measurements. You’ll want to check the shaft height and the calf circumference. The shaft height is measured from the base of your foot, without heels on, to the top of the boot. The calf circumference is the measurement around the fullest part of the boot. Petite friendly boots in my opinion always have a calf circumference under 15″. For me, a 14″ boot shaft is perfect for boots that sit below the knee and about 20″ for over the knee boots.
– Read reviews. I get excited when I read reviews that say “runs small” or “too narrow,” then I know they are probably perfect for me!
-Check the return policy! I always shop at Nordstrom first when looking for shoes. They offer free shipping and free returns so I don’t feel guilty about ordering 5 pairs of boots and only keeping 2 pairs.
Below the Knee Boots:
These Cole Haan boots are my tried and true! They fit so so well and go with everything! They are currently 30% off (no code needed)! I got mine about 3-4 years ago and still wear them every fall and winter. They are comfortable for long walks at the pumpkin patch or to dress up for church on Sunday. I know they are a splurge but are a great investment for fit and quality. With a 15 1/2″ boot shaft and 13 3/4″-15″ calf circumference (depending on your shoe size), these boots are sure to fit those with narrow calves.
Over the Knee Boots:
Every year I get these over the knee boots at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! They are such a great deal, fit amazingly, and look so good with every outfit. I’ve heard a lot about the Stuart Weitzman boots being great for petites but I’m not sure who can afford $800 boots! I mean if you really want an investment piece then sure, but let’s face it…. trends change and there’s just no need to spend that much money!! Anyways, my favorite Steve Madden boots fit my legs so well! I don’t find myself pulling them up during the day and the heel height is just comfortable enough to wear downtown Charleston. They are currently on sale and come in black and grey. See the below picture:
