The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is possibly the most exciting sale of the year for me! This is my 4th (maybe 5th) year shopping it and I’ve gained so much knowledge each year. I definitely have a better idea of must haves and which items can be bought later on, or just aren’t necessary to purchase. You can use this post as your ultimate guide to help you prep for and shop the sale.
Before I get into all the details I want to remind you that if you aren’t shopping the sale, don’t be pressured to shop and buy items you don’t need. If you are shopping, remember that you don’t need everything! I will be sharing several items and products and styling them in different ways so you can see each piece’s versatility. Use me as your resource and guide to help decide what products are worth buying that you can wear for many years to come!
WHAT IS THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE?
This sale started as a way for Nordstrom to reward their credit card holders by offering them early access to the fall and winter collections at a discounted price. Most retail stores will discount items when they have been on the sales floor for a while or when they are low on inventory. However, this sale allows you to shop fall and winter at an initial discount for a period of time before the price goes back up a few weeks later!
While this sale offers Nordstrom credit card holders early access to shop, the sale will eventually extend for everyone to participate. The sale is tiered to allow those that spend the most with Nordstrom throughout the year to shop first. If you have the Nordstrom card you can find out which tier you are here.

JULY 3rd Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Preview
JULY 11th Early Access for cardholders with Icon status
JULY 12th Early Access for cardholders with Ambassador status
JULY 13th Early Access for cardholders with Influencer status (This date is for anyone with a Nordstrom Card)! This date is when items tend to sell out quickly since more people are shopping. I do not condone signing up for credit cards if you cannot pay the balance off entirely every month. However, for me it made sense to have the card so I could shop this sale earlier and get other great perks with Nordstrom. JULY 17th Anniversary Sale opens to the general public!
AUGUST 6th Last day to shop!
On July 3rd the preview look book will be released. This is a sneak peek of all the items that are included in the sale. I highly recommend creating a free Nordstrom rewards account, which allows you to create wishlists for items you are eyeing. Having this account will also make your checkout process easier as you will want to grab your must have items quickly before they sell out.
HOW TO SHOP WITH ME
Instagram – I will be posting all my try ons and must have items here! My try ons will include sizing details and styling tips. I recommend turning on post notifications so you do not miss a restock alert or a sale find. You can turn on these notifications by clicking on the bell in the upper right hand corner in the app. Then select post and stories.
LiketoKnow.it – I regularly post exclusive content to the LTK app so be sure to follow me there @honeysweetpetite. The LTK app is a great way to favorite items, see all my sizing details, be notified for restocks, and see new sale finds.

KEY ITEMS TO LOOK FOR
I highly recommend looking through your fall and winter wardrobe and deciding on what you really need and which items are not a top priority to purchase. For example, since I know I will be in TN this winter, I need to stock up on boots, sweaters, jeans, and activewear. This sale is a great time to purchase designer denim, handbags, jackets, and shoes at a discounted price. Also, set a budget and narrow down your wishlist! Don’t forget this sale is also great for holiday shopping as there are many beauty bundles and other items that never go on sale that will be included. Keep in mind this sale also contains items for home, men, and kids!

TIPS & TRICKS FOR SHOPPING THE SALE
SHOP QUICKLY! One of the best perks Nordstorm offers is free shipping and returns! If there is something you’re eyeing, checkout quickly as items sell out super fast. This is great for when you see an item on my Instagram or LTK page, you can easily click the link and checkout before the item is gone and not have to worry about shipping charges.
HAVE A PLAN! This sale can be overwhelming but stick to what you need! Draw inspiration for outfits and gift planning for the things I share that may not be on your must haves list. Use me as your guide so you’re not spending hours on the Nordstrom site trying to figure out what’s worth it. I will be checking to see if items are worth buying now at up to 40% off or if it’s better to wait to purchase later on. I will also be focusing on petite friendly clothing, shoes, and accessories.
